Tour L (6 days)

  • Day 1

    Marrakesch > Hoher Atlas > Ait Benhaddou > Draà-Tal

Our journey begins after the transfer with a drive over the High Atlas and the 2260m high Tizi-n-Tichka Pass. When the pass is crossed, the steep road descends into the barren landscape of the Anti-Atlas and we reach our first destination, the Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, protected as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It is considered the most beautiful and famous Kasbah in Morocco and served as the backdrop for many such as 'Lawrence of Arabia'.

Afterwards we cross the Draà valley from Agdz to Tamnougalt where we visit an old kasbah and take a trip to the date palm oasis. Dinner and overnight in a riad typical of the region.

  • Day 2

    Draà-Tal > Erg Chigaga

After breakfast at the hotel, we drive south to the oasis of the Draà Valley. The journey continues towards the desert, past Zagora, Tamegroute (if you want you can visit a ceramics workshop where you can see the potters at their craft) at the dunes from Tinfou to Mhamid, once a lonely oasis and an important stage on the old caravan routes.

From Mhamid we drive into the desert; in an adventurous jeep ride on the desert tracks and between the dunes of the Sahara we reach the holy oasis Iriki after about 50 km, where we get our lunch prepared in the open air.

Continue to the dunes of Erg Chigaga, which stretch for about 40 km. The golden dunes reach a height of 300 m and our bivouac is located in the middle of the dunes. Camel ride into the sunset. Enjoy the hospitality of the nomads, with the famous mint tea, the whiskey berbère” as a welcome. Dinner and overnight stay in a Berber tent as well as nomadic romance with a campfire.

  • Day 3

    Erg Chigaga

If you stay in the desert you should get up early to watch the sun rise behind the dunes. After breakfast we set off with our camels for a trek into the dunes of Erg Chigaga. After about 2 hours we reach our resting place, a large tamarind in the shade of which we have our lunch prepared. Mint tea, bread baked in hot sand, meat skewers (brochette) and of course the Moroccan salad taste fantastic in the middle of the dunes. Dinner and overnight in Berber tent; music and campfire.

  • Day 4

    Erg Chigaga > Taroudant

After breakfast we continue our journey on the old Paris-Dakkar track and arrive at Lac Iriki, a salt lake that has mostly dried up for many years, only to come alive in times of increased rainfall. Continuing our journey, we arrive at the fossil mountain, where you can collect some smaller fossils as souvenirs.

We leave the desert and come to Tazenakht, famous for carpet making. Lunch break and continuation to Taroudant. Dinner and overnight in the riad.

  • Day 5

    Taroudant > Agadir > Essaouira

After breakfast in our riad we visit Taroudant, with its charming old town and typical bazaar. Lunch and proceed to Agadir (Lunch) and proceed to beautiful Essaouira. Dinner and overnight in our Riad in the Medina.

  • Day 6

    Essaouira > Marrakesch

After breakfast in our riad we have time to visit the beautiful Essaouira with the winding streets in the medina. Don't miss the fish market and watch the seagulls dance in the breeze. Lunch and return to Marrakech.
